Clean the threads with a M16x2 thread tap.

Note: To remove residue from bolt holes, use chip

vacuum tool PT-2900

Remove the tools used to hold down the liner.

WARNING

Always wear appropriate eye protection to prevent

the risk of eye injury due to contact with engine

debris or fluids.

Clean the cylinder block surface and around the cylinder

liner.

Install the new cylinder head gasket to the engine block

and the new rubber seal to the timing gear plate.

Note: Make sure that the seal is correctly positioned

against the timing gear plate.

Carefully lift the cylinder head onto the cylinder block.

Remove the lifting tool J–41503.
